One post going out to every major social network through SocialClaw, a Typefully alternative for people who write with AI

Last reviewed: November 3, 2026 · Typefully facts sourced from official materials reviewed November 3, 2026

Searching for a Typefully alternative usually means one of three things:

  1. Your audience is not only on text networks. Typefully publishes to six platforms: X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Reddit are not on the list.
  2. You already write with ChatGPT or Claude, and you want the finished post to go out from there, to every network.
  3. The billing stopped fitting. Free stops at 10 posts a month, Creator is $99 a year with no monthly option, and a second brand means Business at $18 per social set per month.

Most roundups still answer with X growth tools. Hypefury, the rival Typefully compares itself against on its own site, no longer lists X among its platforms.

Here is how the alternatives actually rank, by what you need once the writing is done.

What Is Typefully?

Typefully is a writing-first social media scheduler built around threads. Its pricing page now calls it "a social workspace for humans and agents."

From its official materials (reviewed November 3, 2026), Typefully offers:

  • Six platforms: X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack, grouped into "social sets" (the accounts of one person or brand)
  • A thread-first editor: auto-numbering, a Thread Finisher, pixel-perfect previews and LinkedIn PDF carousels
  • Engagement automation on every plan: Automatic Plug, scheduled retweets and auto-DMs
  • Agent access on every plan, Free included: a v2 REST API with webhooks, a hosted MCP server with OAuth, and Agent Skills (npx skills add typefully/agent-skills)
  • An Anthropic-verified Claude connector, listed since September 2026, with 24 tools for drafts, comments, media, tags and the queue
PlanPriceSocial setsUsersPosts / monthWhat the tier adds
Free$01110API, MCP and agents; limited media uploads
Creator$99/year (annual billing only)111,000AI writing features, X analytics, unlimited media
Business$18 per social set/mo billed yearly ($20 monthly)Up to 50Unlimited1,500Teams, roles, permissions, Slack notifications, higher API rate limits

Credit where it is due. The editor is genuinely excellent: threads number themselves, the preview matches what goes live, and the Claude connector's listing says nothing goes live until you confirm it. For a writer whose audience lives on X, LinkedIn and Threads, Typefully is honestly hard to beat, and an API on the free plan is more generous than most of this list.

Where Typefully falls short is reach. All six platforms are text-first, so a launch that needs a video or a subreddit post leaves Typefully for another tool. Analytics cover X only, ChatGPT connects through Developer Mode, and the API docs describe the API as "meant to create personal automations and workflows."

That is the gap the rest of this guide ranks against.

Why People Look for Typefully Alternatives

People rarely leave Typefully over the editor. They hit one of these walls:

Networks past text

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit and Pinterest are not on Typefully's platform list.

ChatGPT without Developer Mode

Typefully's MCP help article says ChatGPT needs a Plus or Pro account with Developer Mode switched on first.

A plan you can pay monthly

Free allows 10 posts a month, and Creator is $99 a year, paid up front.

More than one identity

Creator holds one social set. A founder account plus a company account means Business, at $18 per social set per month on annual billing.

Analytics beyond X

Typefully's help center says analytics cover X only for now.

If the first two walls are yours, a better editor will not help. You need a publishing layer behind the AI you already write with.

#1 SocialClaw: Best Typefully Alternative for Writing with AI

SocialClaw connects AI agents to social publishing across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and more
SocialClaw connects AI agents to social publishing across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and more

Overall Rating: 9.4 / 10

SocialClaw publishes to 12 networks from $15 a month, with the API, CLI and MCP server on every plan. Typefully publishes to six, and Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Reddit are not among them.

SocialClaw is the best Typefully alternative when you write with AI and want the result posted everywhere your audience is. It is a social publishing control plane: one hosted workspace that the dashboard, REST API, CLI, MCP server, Claude Code skill and ChatGPT app all drive, against the same accounts and the same rules.

Think of it as Typefully's mirror image. Typefully is an editor with doors for agents. SocialClaw is a publishing layer that assumes the writing happens elsewhere: in ChatGPT, in Claude or in your own agent. You draft there, and SocialClaw gets it onto the networks.

What makes SocialClaw different

  • Native in the tools you write with: an official ChatGPT app, a listing in Anthropic's Claude plugin directory, and a hosted MCP connector at https://getsocialclaw.com/mcp with OAuth
  • Every surface on every plan: dashboard, REST API, MCP server, Claude Code skill and a CLI; SocialClaw was one of the first social media schedulers to ship one
  • The validate → apply → inspect loop: check a schedule, run it, then look up each run, post and attempt by ID
  • Hosted media: upload once, reuse a stable public URL everywhere
  • 12 networks: X, LinkedIn (profiles and company pages), Instagram (Business and standalone professional), Threads, Facebook Pages, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest, WordPress, Discord and Telegram

Why SocialClaw wins when AI does the writing

Typefully already lets Claude draft and schedule posts, so "an assistant can post for you" separates nobody here. What happens after the draft does.

Problem 1: The thread is written, but half the launch is not text. Claude writes you a good launch thread. The same launch also needs a TikTok, an Instagram post, a YouTube video and a post in the right subreddit, and none of those four is on Typefully's platform list.

SocialClaw fix: One schedule covers all 12 networks. The chat that wrote the thread also queues the TikTok, the Instagram post and the Reddit post, against accounts you connected once.

Problem 2: An agent's schedule fails one post at a time. A week of posts for six networks will eventually include one a platform rejects, and a failed post at 9 a.m. is a late way to find out. Typefully deserves credit: its API rejects malformed requests, and its connector asks before anything goes live. Both checks work one draft at a time.

SocialClaw fix: socialclaw validate -f schedule.json --json checks the whole schedule before anything is queued and returns output the agent can read. It fixes what came back, validates again, and only then runs socialclaw apply.

Problem 3: "Finished" does not mean "delivered." Typefully's API docs say so honestly: a finished publish job is done, not necessarily successful, so you check each draft's status. That works for one draft. Twenty posts across five networks need one record.

SocialClaw fix: Inspect by ID. socialclaw status --run-id <id> --json shows every post in a run, and socialclaw posts get --post-id <id> --json shows one post and each of its attempts.

Several tools here cover a piece of this. None document the full loop across this many networks in their official materials.

Native AI agent integrations

In ChatGPT, install the official app; no Developer Mode needed. In Claude, add SocialClaw from the plugin directory or by connector URL with OAuth. Our ChatGPT apps and Claude connectors guides compare the options. For everything else:

# Claude Code skill
npx skills add ndesv21/socialclaw

# CLI for scripts, CI jobs and shell agents
npm i -g socialclaw

# Local MCP server for any MCP client
npx -y socialclaw mcp

SocialClaw pricing

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Starter3200$15$10
Startup6400$29$19
Plus201,000$67$49
Pro502,500$99$80

For one writer, Typefully Creator is cheaper: $99 a year against $120 for Starter billed annually. A second identity flips it: a founder and a company on X, LinkedIn and Threads cost $36/mo on Typefully Business and $19/mo on SocialClaw Startup, both annual, though Typefully includes unlimited users.

#2 Postiz: Best for Open-Source Agent Scheduling

Overall Rating: 7.9 / 10

Postiz is the closest tool to SocialClaw's shape that still leads with a scheduler UI. From its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026): Standard is $29/mo ($23 annual) for 5 channels, Team is $39/mo ($31) for 10 with unlimited team members, Pro is $49/mo ($39) for 30, and Ultimate is $99/mo ($79) for 100. Every plan has unlimited posts, a 7-day trial, the MCP server, the Postiz CLI, the API and webhooks.

Its FAQ names 12 networks, Reddit, Discord, Bluesky and Mastodon among them, with threads on X and Threads and Plugs that work much like Auto-Plug. It is open source.

When Postiz makes sense: You want plug-style engagement on a dozen networks, driven by Claude, ChatGPT or a shell agent from the first plan. See our Postiz alternatives guide.

When Postiz falls short: Its FAQ calls self-hosting "a secondary option," and a whole-schedule check or per-attempt delivery record is not described in its official materials.

#3 Buffer: Best for a Free Plan with API Access

Overall Rating: 7.6 / 10

Buffer is the simplest multi-network swap, and one of three tools here with API access at $0 (Typefully and Zernio are the others). Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Free for 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel and 1 API key, Essentials at $6 per channel per month ($5 annual), and Team at $12 ($10 annual) with unlimited team members and approvals. ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor integrations are on every plan.

The draw is 12 channels: Typefully's text networks plus Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Facebook and Google Business Profile, with threads on X, Bluesky, Threads and Mastodon.

When Buffer makes sense: You want Typefully's text networks and the visual ones in one calm queue, at the lowest price per channel. More in our Buffer alternatives guide.

When Buffer falls short: Auto-plugs and auto-retweets do not appear on its pricing page, and Reddit, Discord and Telegram are not on its channel list.

#4 ContentStudio: Best for an All-in-One Suite with a CLI

Overall Rating: 7.3 / 10

ContentStudio is a full suite with every door open to agents. From its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026): Standard is $29/mo ($19 annual) for 5 accounts and 1,500 API requests, Advanced is $69/mo ($49 annual) for 10 accounts with an inbox and approvals, and Agency Unlimited is $139/mo ($99 annual) with unlimited workspaces and users. MCP, API access, X threads and LinkedIn carousels start on Standard.

Its official contentstudio-cli package ships an agent skill and a --dry-run flag that prints a request without sending it. Threads, Bluesky, TikTok and Telegram are on its network list.

When ContentStudio makes sense: You want writing, AI images and video, scheduling and an agent-ready CLI in one tool, without an enterprise contract.

When ContentStudio falls short: A dry run previews one request, not a whole schedule, and Reddit, Mastodon and Substack are not on its list.

#5 Blotato: Best for AI-Generated Content at Volume

Overall Rating: 7.1 / 10

Blotato is for people who want AI to make the content as well as post it. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Starter at $29/mo for 20 social accounts, Creator at $97/mo for 40, and Agency at $499/mo, each with a 7-day trial and monthly AI credits for images and video. One API and MCP server publishes to X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky and Pinterest.

Feed it a YouTube link or a PDF and it returns carousels, faceless videos and posts. Note that the trial excludes the API and MCP server; generating an API key starts your paid plan.

When Blotato makes sense: An agent turns one idea into videos and carousels for nine platforms. See our Blotato alternatives guide.

When Blotato falls short: No free plan, no API testing before you pay, and no Reddit, Mastodon or Substack.

#6 Hypefury: Best for Threads, LinkedIn and Bluesky Growth

Overall Rating: 6.8 / 10

Hypefury is one of the rivals Typefully compares itself against on its own site, and it has changed shape. Its pricing FAQ (reviewed November 3, 2026) counts six platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok and Bluesky. X is not one of them.

What remains is a capable growth tool: long posts become threads, Global Autoplug writes AI variations, and MCP for Claude or ChatGPT is on every plan. Flexible is $6 per platform per month ($60/year), Creator is $19/mo ($190/year) for all six, and Pro is $39/mo ($390/year) with 5 workspaces and 2 ghostwriter seats.

When Hypefury makes sense: Your growth has moved to Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Instagram, and you want autoplugs and auto DMs at a flat $19/mo.

When Hypefury falls short: Your audience is on X. No public API appears on its pricing page either, so agents reach it through MCP alone.

#7 Publer: Best for Per-Account Value

Overall Rating: 6.7 / 10

Publer charges per social account, the cheapest way to reach a long list of networks. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists a free plan for 3 accounts (X excluded) with 10 scheduled posts per account, Professional from $5/mo ($4 annual), and Business from $10/mo ($8 annual), which adds the Publer API and MCP. Every 10th account is free, across 13 networks including Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Telegram.

When Publer makes sense: You want text and visual networks priced per account. See our Publer alternatives guide.

When Publer falls short: X needs a paid plan because of X's API costs, and the API and MCP start on Business.

#8 Zernio: Best for Developers Who Want a Raw API

Overall Rating: 6.5 / 10

Zernio is an API, not an editor. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) charges per connected account with every feature included: 2 accounts free, accounts 3 to 10 at $6/mo each, 11 to 100 at $3/mo, and $1/mo beyond that. It covers X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, Reddit, Pinterest, Bluesky, Snapchat and Google Business, plus messaging, with an MCP server.

When Zernio makes sense: You are a developer building a product on social posting. See our Zernio alternatives guide.

When Zernio falls short: X API usage is passed through at X's own rates, and there is no writing experience. For a Typefully user it replaces the plumbing, not the editor.

#9 Taplio: Best for LinkedIn-Only Writers

Overall Rating: 6.3 / 10

Taplio is LinkedIn only, and deep at it. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Starter at $39/mo, Growth at $69/mo with AI viral post writing and team collaboration, and Pro at $199/mo with automated lead outreach, each with a 7-day trial and 25% off yearly. Every plan includes a 5M+ viral post library, an MCP integration for Claude and ChatGPT, and the Taplio API, with per-plan limits.

When Taplio makes sense: LinkedIn pays your bills and you want AI and lead outreach around it.

When Taplio falls short: Everything outside LinkedIn. There is no X, Threads or Bluesky.

#10 Tweet Hunter: Best for X-Only Growth

Overall Rating: 5.9 / 10

Tweet Hunter is the X-only counterpart. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Discover at $29/mo for 1 X account with thread scheduling, evergreen tweets, Auto-plug and Auto-retweet, Grow at $49/mo for 5 accounts with the AI writer and an X CRM, and Enterprise at $200/mo for unlimited accounts. Each starts with a 7-day trial.

When Tweet Hunter makes sense: You want deeper X growth tooling: a 12M+ viral tweet library, a CRM and auto-DMs.

When Tweet Hunter falls short: It is X only, and no API or MCP server appears on its pricing page.

#11 Ordinal: Best for LinkedIn-First Teams

Overall Rating: 5.7 / 10

Ordinal is a LinkedIn-first scheduler for company teams, another tool Typefully compares itself against. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Starter at $95/mo ($85 annual) for 3 users, 4 social profiles and 50 scheduled posts a month, Pro at $265/mo ($235 annual) with unlimited users, team engagements and API and MCP access, and Growth at $695/mo ($625 annual).

When Ordinal makes sense: A company wants employees to engage with each other's LinkedIn and X posts, with approvals.

When Ordinal falls short: Price. API and MCP access start at $265 a month; Typefully includes both on its free plan.

#12 Metricool: Best for Analytics-First Creators

Overall Rating: 5.6 / 10

Metricool leads with analytics. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026, in USD) lists a free plan for 1 brand and 20 posts a month, without LinkedIn or X but with Metricool MCP, Starter from $25/mo ($20 annual) for 5 brands, and Advanced from $67/mo ($53 annual) for 15 brands with approvals and the API.

When Metricool makes sense: You want analytics on every network, where Typefully covers X only. See our Metricool alternatives guide.

When Metricool falls short: X is a $10/mo add-on per connected account, and the API waits for Advanced.

SocialClaw Workflow in 60 Seconds

Here is the validate → apply → inspect loop from a terminal. In ChatGPT or Claude, the agent runs the same steps for you.

# Install the CLI and sign in with your workspace API key
npm i -g socialclaw
socialclaw login --api-key <key>

# Connect the networks Typefully does not cover
socialclaw accounts connect --provider tiktok --open
socialclaw accounts connect --provider instagram --open

# Validate before anything is queued, then apply
socialclaw validate -f schedule.json --json
socialclaw apply -f schedule.json --json

# Inspect what happened
socialclaw status --run-id <id> --json

The --json flag gives the agent structured output to read before each next step.

Migrating from Typefully to SocialClaw

You do not have to choose on day one. Keep Typefully for hand-written threads and let SocialClaw carry the rest.

  1. Keep what Typefully does best: hand-written threads, plus Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack, which SocialClaw does not cover.
  2. Connect the networks Typefully cannot reach: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit or Pinterest.
  3. Point your AI at SocialClaw through the ChatGPT app, the Claude connector or the Claude Code skill.
  4. Upload media once and reuse the returned URLs.
  5. Validate, then apply. Fix what validation returns before anything is queued.
  6. Inspect the first runs by run ID and post ID.

FAQs

What is the best Typefully alternative?

SocialClaw, if you write with ChatGPT or Claude and want posts on 12 networks, with the API, CLI and MCP on every plan from $15/mo. For hand-written threads, Typefully is still the best editor.

Does Typefully have an API?

Yes. Its v2 API is on every plan, Free included, covering drafts, media, the queue and webhooks. The docs say it "is meant to create personal automations and workflows."

Does Typefully work with Claude and ChatGPT?

Yes. Typefully has an Anthropic-verified Claude connector with 24 tools and a hosted MCP server with OAuth. ChatGPT uses that MCP server, which its help article says needs a Plus or Pro account with Developer Mode switched on.

Can Typefully post to Instagram, TikTok or YouTube?

No. Typefully publishes to X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack. Buffer, Postiz, ContentStudio, Blotato, Publer and SocialClaw all cover Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Does Hypefury still support X?

No. As of November 3, 2026, Hypefury's pricing FAQ lists Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok and Bluesky. For X growth tools, look at Tweet Hunter or stay on Typefully.

What is the cheapest Typefully alternative?

Buffer or Publer: Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels with an API key, Publer's 3 accounts (not X). SocialClaw Starter is $15/mo, or $10/mo billed annually.

How does SocialClaw pricing compare to Typefully?

Typefully is cheaper for one identity: $99 a year against $120 for SocialClaw Starter on annual billing. SocialClaw is cheaper for two: a founder and a company on X, LinkedIn and Threads cost $36/mo on Typefully Business and $19/mo on SocialClaw Startup, both billed annually.

Does SocialClaw replace Typefully completely?

Not for everyone. It replaces Typefully when AI does the writing and the posts need networks Typefully lacks. If you rely on Auto-Plug or post to Bluesky, Mastodon or Substack, run both.

Final Verdict

The best Typefully alternative depends on what happens after the writing:

  • You write threads by hand for X, LinkedIn and Threads → stay on Typefully; nothing here beats its editor
