Last reviewed: November 3, 2026 · Loomly facts sourced from official materials reviewed November 3, 2026
Searching for a Loomly alternative usually means one of three things:
- You need an API, and Loomly does not have one. Its help center says so: "Loomly does not currently offer a public API." Zapier is the official route, with two actions.
- Your AI assistant stops at a draft. Loomly's ChatGPT app can review your calendars and create draft posts and post ideas. Someone still opens Loomly to schedule each one.
- The plan ladder has a cliff. Starter costs $65 a month for 12 social accounts and 3 users, and every client who only approves posts counts as a user. The next plan up is Beyond, at $332 a month.
Most Loomly roundups answer the third point with another calendar tool. That fixes the seat count and leaves the API and the agent where they were.
Here is how the alternatives actually rank, by workflow owner: a brand team approving posts in a calendar, an agency serving clients, or an AI agent running the publishing.

What Is Loomly?
Loomly is a calendar-first social media management platform for brand teams and agencies, part of Bending Spoons. You plan posts on calendars, route them through approvals, publish, reply and report, with an AI assistant throughout.
From its pricing page, help center and ChatGPT app listing (reviewed November 3, 2026):
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly (per month) | Social accounts | Users | What the tier adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $65 | $49 | 12 | 3 | AI assistant, unlimited scheduling, approval workflows, advanced analytics, replies to interactions, Zapier |
| Beyond | $332 | $249 | 60 | Unlimited | Custom branding (subdomain, logo, favicon), scheduled reports, calendar 2FA enforcement, extended AI usage |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | 61+ | Unlimited | Priority support, pricing at scale |
- A 7-day free trial with no credit card, 25% off on yearly billing (yearly plans cannot be ended early), and 50% off for nonprofits
- Ten networks on its supported list: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, Threads and Bluesky
- One account per network per calendar: three Facebook Pages means three calendars, counted as three social accounts
- No public API, in its help center's words; automation runs through Zapier
- An official ChatGPT app, listed by developer Bending Spoons S.p.A., to "review calendars, posts, post ideas, and library content, and to create draft posts and post ideas"
Loomly's approval system is the reason most people choose it, and it deserves the credit. There are three built-in workflows: Original (two or more approvers, seven post statuses), Lite (one approver, and approved posts are scheduled automatically) and Zero (no approvals). Custom workflows, on select plans, go further: they assign reviewers when a post changes state and block the next step until the required people act.
The built-in workflows come with the $65 Starter plan, where several rivals save approvals for a higher tier. For a brand team that lives in sign-offs, Loomly is honestly good value.
Where Loomly falls short is everything that happens outside the calendar. There is no public API, the ChatGPT app writes drafts rather than scheduled posts, and X, Reddit, Discord, Telegram and WordPress are not on its supported list.
That is the gap this guide addresses.
Why Teams Look for Loomly Alternatives
When teams outgrow Loomly, they usually hit one of these walls:
No API to build on
Scripts, CI jobs and your own product have nothing to call.
Drafts, not delivery
The ChatGPT app creates draft posts and post ideas. A person still schedules them inside Loomly.
The 3-user ceiling
Clients who only approve posts count as users, and the next plan costs $332 a month.
Missing networks
X, Reddit, Discord, Telegram and WordPress are not on Loomly's supported list.
One account per network per calendar
Each calendar holds one account per network, so a second Facebook Page means a second calendar.
If the first two describe you, a different calendar will not help.

#1 SocialClaw: Best Loomly Alternative for AI Agents
Overall Rating: 9.4 / 10
No Loomly plan, at any price, includes a public API. On SocialClaw, $15 a month buys the REST API, the CLI and the MCP server.
SocialClaw is the best Loomly alternative when the thing doing the publishing is an AI agent, a script or your own product. It is a social publishing control plane: one hosted workspace that a dashboard, a REST API, a CLI, an MCP server, a Claude Code skill and a ChatGPT app all drive the same way.
SocialClaw inverts Loomly's shape. In Loomly, software drafts and a person publishes. In SocialClaw, software publishes and a person checks the results, on plans priced by accounts and posts rather than seats.
What makes SocialClaw different
- Native inside ChatGPT and Claude: an official ChatGPT app, a hosted MCP connector with OAuth, and a listing in Anthropic's Claude plugin directory
- Every way in, on every plan: dashboard, REST API, CLI, MCP server (hosted or local), Claude Code skill and ChatGPT app
- Hosted media upload: upload once, get a stable public URL every supported platform can fetch
- Validate before apply, inspect after: runs, posts and attempts are queryable by ID
- 12 networks: X, LinkedIn (profiles and company pages), Instagram (Business and standalone professional), Threads, Facebook Pages, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest, WordPress, Discord and Telegram
- CLI first: one of the first social media schedulers to ship a CLI
Why SocialClaw wins when an agent publishes
Loomly's ChatGPT app can help plan the calendar. The harder questions start when you want the assistant to finish the job.
Problem 1: The agent's work stops at a draft. You ask ChatGPT for next week's launch posts. Loomly's app saves them as drafts, and someone opens Loomly to set times and schedule each one.
SocialClaw fix: apply schedules for real. Through the ChatGPT app, the Claude connector, the CLI or the API, the agent validates the schedule, applies it, and the posts are queued.
Problem 2: There is nothing to build on. You want a nightly job or your own SaaS to publish. Loomly has no public API, and its Zapier app can create two things: a custom post idea or a quick post.
SocialClaw fix: The REST API, the CLI and the MCP server are on every plan, including Starter at $15 a month.
Problem 3: Bad posts surface at publish time. The agent attaches an image URL the platform cannot fetch (an expired CDN link, a signed URL that timed out) or breaks a platform rule. You find out when the post fails.
SocialClaw fix: Hosted media upload plus the validate → apply → inspect loop. The agent uploads once, gets a stable public URL, runs socialclaw validate, fixes what comes back, then applies. Afterwards, socialclaw status --run-id <id> --json reports what happened to each post.
No other tool on this list documents all three steps in its official materials.
Native AI agent integrations
In ChatGPT, install the official app. In Claude, add the hosted MCP connector at https://getsocialclaw.com/mcp and sign in with OAuth. Everywhere else:
npx skills add ndesv21/socialclaw # Claude Code skill
npm i -g socialclaw # CLI for scripts and shell-capable agents
npx -y socialclaw mcp # local MCP server for any MCP client
SocialClaw pricing
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
| Plan | Social accounts | Posts / month | Monthly | Annual (per month) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 3 | 200 | $15 | $10 |
| Startup | 6 | 400 | $29 | $19 |
| Plus | 20 | 1,000 | $67 | $49 |
| Pro | 50 | 2,500 | $99 | $80 |
API, CLI, MCP and agent access are on every plan, and there is no per-seat pricing.
The cleanest comparison sits at $49 a month on yearly billing. That buys Loomly Starter (12 accounts, 3 users, approvals, an inbox, unlimited scheduling) or SocialClaw Plus (20 accounts, 1,000 posts a month, API, CLI and MCP). Loomly gives more to a team that approves in a calendar. SocialClaw gives more to a team whose posts come from an agent.

#2 Planable: Best for Approval-Heavy Teams
Overall Rating: 7.9 / 10
Planable is the closest like-for-like Loomly replacement, and it beats Loomly on seats: unlimited users on every plan, priced per workspace. Its pricing file (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Basic at $39 per workspace a month for 4 social pages and 60 posts, Pro at $59 for 10 pages, 150 posts and required approvals, and Enterprise with multi-level approvals. Yearly billing gives two months free, and the first 50 posts are free with no time limit.
Its MCP connector is on every plan, and the public API starts on Pro. Behavior depends on the client: Planable's Claude guide says "Claude creates posts as drafts in Planable," while its ChatGPT app can schedule, publish or approve posts when your Planable role allows it.
When Planable makes sense: Clients, legal and brand leads all sign off, and you are tired of paying for each of them.
When Planable falls short: Post caps per workspace, required approvals only from Pro, and analytics ($14) and inbox ($9) sold as per-workspace add-ons, both of which Loomly includes on Starter. Full breakdown in our Planable alternatives guide.

#3 ContentStudio: Best All-in-One with API, MCP and CLI
Overall Rating: 7.8 / 10
ContentStudio is the suite that left the developer door open. Its pricing page lists Standard at $19 a month on annual billing ($29 monthly) for 5 accounts and 1 user, Advanced at $49 ($69) for 10 accounts, 2 users and approval workflows, and Agency Unlimited at $99 ($139) for 25 accounts with unlimited users and workspaces. A separate API-centric plan costs $180 a year for 10 accounts. The trial is 7 days.
API access and MCP are on every plan. Its MCP server schedules posts from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, and its CLI (contentstudio-cli on npm) creates scheduled, draft or queued posts, with a --dry-run flag that prints the payload before sending it. It publishes to 11 networks, including X, Telegram and Bluesky.
When ContentStudio makes sense: You want a calendar, AI and inbox in one tool, plus an agent or script that can schedule.
When ContentStudio falls short: Approvals wait for Advanced, Standard has one user, and its official materials describe no check against platform rules before publish. Reddit, Discord and WordPress are not on its list.

#4 Vista Social: Best Agency Suite with a Deep MCP
Overall Rating: 7.6 / 10
Vista Social runs the largest MCP server on this list. Its support center lists 102 MCP tools, and one of them "drafts, schedules, or edits a social post across one or more connected profiles." That is the step Loomly's ChatGPT app cannot take.
From its pricing page: Professional is $99 a month ($950 a year) for 15 profiles and 2 users with approval stages, Advanced is $199 ($1,910 a year) for 30 profiles and 3 users with multi-stage workflows for teams and clients, and Scale is $449 ($4,310 a year) for 70 profiles, 4 users and white label. X is a $29 monthly add-on, and the REST API comes with Enterprise or an API add-on. More in our Vista Social alternatives guide.
When Vista Social makes sense: An agency wants client approvals, an inbox and reporting in one place, reachable from Claude or ChatGPT.
When Vista Social falls short: Professional includes 2 users, one fewer than Loomly Starter, and the API needs Enterprise or an add-on.

#5 SocialPilot: Best Budget Pick for Agencies
Overall Rating: 7.4 / 10
SocialPilot is the value play for agencies leaving Loomly. Its pricing file lists Essentials at $30 a month ($25.50 annual) for 7 accounts and 1 user, Standard at $50 ($42.50) for 15 accounts, 3 users and manager approval, Premium at $100 ($85) for 25 accounts, 6 users, unlimited client seats and client approval workflows, and Ultimate at $200 ($170) for 50 accounts and unlimited users.
Its MCP server is on every plan and can "create and schedule posts across connected accounts, save drafts for review," per its FAQ. API access is Enterprise only. See our SocialPilot alternatives guide.
When SocialPilot makes sense: You approve posts with clients and want them in the tool without each one costing a seat.
When SocialPilot falls short: Essentials has no approvals or analytics, and a REST API means an Enterprise conversation.

#6 Buffer: Best Simple Scheduler with a Free API
Overall Rating: 7.2 / 10
Buffer is the cheapest clean exit for small teams. Its pricing page lists Free for 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, Essentials at $60 per channel a year ($5 a month billed yearly) and Team at $120 ($10) with unlimited users and approval workflows. API keys come with every plan, Free included, and its MCP page says "MCP access is included on every plan, including Free."
When Buffer makes sense: A few people, a handful of channels, and an assistant that fills the queue. See our Buffer alternatives guide.
When Buffer falls short: Approvals wait for Team, and per-channel pricing adds up quickly for an agency.
#7 Agorapulse: Best for Inbox and Client Reporting
Overall Rating: 7.0 / 10
Agorapulse is built around the inbox and the client report. Its pricing page lists Standard at $79 per user a month on annual billing ($99 monthly), Professional at $119 ($149) with approval workflows, and Advanced at $149 ($199), each with 10 social profiles. The trial runs 30 days, and X publishing is an add-on priced through sales.
Its MCP connector works with ChatGPT and Claude, and its help center states the limit plainly: "The MCP connector can create drafts, but it does not publish or schedule content." That is the same wall as Loomly's app. More in our Agorapulse alternatives guide.
When Agorapulse makes sense: Your team lives in comments, DMs and monthly reports.
When Agorapulse falls short: Per-user pricing, approvals from Professional, and a reports-only API on Custom.
#8 Sendible: Best for Unlimited Users
Overall Rating: 6.8 / 10
Sendible's pricing page leads with "Unlimited users on all plans." Core is $35 a month for 6 profiles, Plus $99 for 18 profiles with assignment and approvals, Premium $199 for 42, Elite $299 for 90 and Enterprise $750 for 300. White label costs extra on Elite and Enterprise, with pricing from $349 a month. The trial is 14 days, and its networks include X and WordPress.
When Sendible makes sense: An agency brings clients and freelancers into the tool and refuses to pay per head. See our Sendible alternatives guide.
When Sendible falls short: We found no public API or MCP server in its official materials, so agents and scripts are off the table.
#9 Metricool: Best Analytics-First Option
Overall Rating: 6.7 / 10
Metricool leads with analytics. Its pricing page lists a Free plan for 1 brand and 20 posts a month (LinkedIn and X excluded), Starter from $20 a month on annual billing ($25 monthly) for 5 brands, and Advanced from $53 ($67) for 15 brands with post approval and the API. The Metricool MCP is on every plan, Free included, and its help center describes Claude creating scheduled posts through it.
When Metricool makes sense: Reports drive your week. See our Metricool alternatives guide.
When Metricool falls short: X needs an add-on, and approvals and the API wait for Advanced.
#10 Publer: Best Per-Account Value
Overall Rating: 6.6 / 10
Publer prices by social account. Its help center lists a Free plan for 3 accounts (X excluded), Professional from $5 a month and Business from $10 for one account each, with 20% off yearly. Business adds approval workflows, and the network list includes Telegram, Mastodon, Bluesky, WordPress and Google Business Profile.
When Publer makes sense: You want a cheap scheduler priced by the account. See our Publer alternatives guide.
When Publer falls short: Publer says it "does not offer a public API that is available to everyone." The API and MCP server are for eligible Business and Enterprise customers.
#11 Later: Best for Visual Planning
Overall Rating: 6.1 / 10
Later prices by social set, one profile per supported network. Its pricing page lists Starter at $18.75 a month billed yearly for 1 set and 1 user, Growth at $37.50 for 2 sets, 2 users and content approvals, and Scale at $82.50 for 6 sets and 4 users, with a 14-day trial. Its network list (Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Snapchat) has no X.
When Later makes sense: Instagram and TikTok visual planning. See our Later alternatives guide.
When Later falls short: No public API or MCP is named on its pricing page, and Starter caps posts at 30 per profile.
#12 Hootsuite: Best for Enterprise Governance
Overall Rating: 5.9 / 10
Hootsuite's plans page lists Standard from $99, Professional from $199 and Advanced up to $399 per user a month on annual billing, with a 14-day trial. Standard covers 10 social accounts, and content approvals arrive on Advanced. Its Perch MCP connector handles "content creation, planning, and publishing" in ChatGPT and Claude, though its FAQ adds that "organizations maintain control over publishing." Its developer site documents a REST publishing API, without stating plan access.
When Hootsuite makes sense: Large organizations that need governance across departments. See our Hootsuite alternatives and Sprout Social alternatives guides.
When Hootsuite falls short: Price. One Advanced seat, the tier with approvals, costs more per month than Loomly Beyond with 60 accounts and unlimited users.

SocialClaw Workflow in 60 Seconds
This is the whole validate → apply → inspect loop from a terminal. An agent in ChatGPT or Claude runs the same steps.
npm i -g socialclaw
socialclaw login --api-key <key>
socialclaw accounts connect --provider linkedin --open
socialclaw accounts connect --provider x --open
socialclaw accounts list --json
socialclaw assets upload --file ./launch.png --json
socialclaw validate -f schedule.json --json
socialclaw apply -f schedule.json --json
socialclaw status --run-id <id> --json
socialclaw posts get --post-id <id> --json
Every step returns JSON an agent can read before it picks the next one.
Migrating from Loomly to SocialClaw
- Time it with your renewal. Loomly's yearly plans cannot be ended early, so export the reports you want and switch near the billing date.
- Start the trial. Sign in and size the plan by accounts and posts, not headcount.
- Reconnect accounts with
socialclaw accounts connect --provider <p> --open, thensocialclaw accounts list --json. - Wire up your agent. Install the ChatGPT app, or add
https://getsocialclaw.com/mcpas a connector in Claude. - Move the next week of posts. Upload media, validate, apply, and check the run with
socialclaw status. - Decide about approvals and the inbox. If clients sign off or you reply to comments in Loomly, keep a tool for that job.
| Loomly | SocialClaw equivalent |

Planable: unlimited users on every plan, required approvals from Pro and multi-level approvals on Enterprise. For agencies, Vista Social and SocialPilot build in client approvals.
Does Loomly support X (Twitter)?
Not according to its help center, which lists ten supported networks without X. SocialClaw, Buffer, ContentStudio and Sendible all list X; Vista Social and Metricool sell it as an add-on.
Does SocialClaw replace Loomly completely?
Not for every team. SocialClaw replaces Loomly's publishing and adds an API, a CLI and AI agents that schedule posts for real. It does not replace Loomly's client approval calendar or its inbox.
Final Verdict
Pick by the job you are hiring it for:
- Approvals are the whole job, and seats hurt → Planable
- An all-in-one suite whose agent can schedule → ContentStudio for API and MCP on every plan, Vista Social for the deepest MCP
- An agency that needs clients in the tool → SocialPilot for unlimited client seats, Sendible for unlimited users
- The inbox and the client report → Agorapulse
- Simple, cheap scheduling → Buffer or Publer; Metricool if analytics come first
- Visual Instagram and TikTok planning → Later
- Enterprise governance → Hootsuite
- Code or an AI agent owns publishing → SocialClaw
Loomly remains a good approval calendar. It is not a publishing execution layer.
SocialClaw is. An API, CLI and MCP server on every plan, hosted media, and the validate → apply → inspect loop mean an agent can publish and you can see exactly what it did.
