Searching for a Vista Social alternative usually means one of three things:

  1. The plan math stopped working. Vista Social starts at $99 a month with 2 users included, and X is a separate $29 a month add-on. A small team that needs a third login or a modest budget hits a wall fast.
  2. You need the REST API, not just the assistant. Vista's API documentation says the API "is included with Enterprise plans and with the API add-on." Enterprise is custom-priced, and the add-on is not on the pricing page.
  3. You want an AI agent or a script to own publishing. That means a key on day one and a way to check a schedule before it goes live.

Most Vista Social roundups answer the first point with a cheaper dashboard and ignore the other two.

Here is how the alternatives actually rank, by workflow owner.

What Is Vista Social?

Vista Social is an all-in-one social media suite for agencies, brands and multi-location businesses: publishing, a social inbox, DM automations, review management, listening and an AI command center called Ask Vista.

From its official pricing page and help center (reviewed November 3, 2026):

PlanMonthlyYearlyProfilesUsersWhat the tier adds
Professional$99$950152Publishing, inbox, reporting, DM automations, Ask Vista and MCP
Advanced$199$1,910303Multi-stage approvals, custom reports, Zapier and Make
Scale$449$4,310704White-label reports and dashboards, client profile connect
EnterpriseCustomCustomUnlimited8+Sentiment detection, premium analytics, SSO as an add-on
  • Add-ons: X (Twitter) at $29 a month, listening across social, web and news from $75 a month, and employee advocacy at $199 a month for 25 employees.
  • Trial: 14 days with no credit card. Yearly billing saves 20% and is paid upfront.
  • Networks: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, Google Business, Snapchat, Tumblr and Bluesky, plus review sites.
  • MCP server: included on every plan, with 102 tools listed in the help center. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot and Perplexity are approved OAuth clients.
  • REST API: API 2.0, with 76 endpoints at api.vistasocial.com, available on Enterprise or with the API add-on. The limit is 60 requests a minute, and a key that breaks it 11 times in an hour is deactivated automatically.

Credit where it is due. Vista's MCP server is one of the most complete in this category. Its "Create or update a post" tool "drafts, schedules, or edits a social post across one or more connected profiles," and the help center pitches a pre-publish check for "character limits, missing media, and formatting issues." For a team that lives in one dashboard and wants Claude inside it, Vista is honestly very good.

Where Vista Social falls short is everything outside that chat window. The REST API is an Enterprise or add-on line with no public price, we found no CLI in its official materials, and its API reference answers the sandbox question with "No. Calls hit your live workspace." For code-driven teams, that is the door that matters.

That is the gap this guide addresses.

Why Teams Look for Vista Social Alternatives

API behind Enterprise or an add-on

The REST API is not on Professional, Advanced or Scale by default, and the add-on has no published price.

No dry run

Vista's API has no sandbox. Its own advice is to test writes against a profile group you do not publish from.

Users capped per plan

2 users on Professional, 3 on Advanced, 4 on Scale. Extra users are sold on Scale; bigger teams talk to sales.

X costs extra

Publishing, analytics and automations for X are a $29 a month add-on on every plan.

Networks outside the list

Discord, Telegram and WordPress are not on Vista's supported networks.

#1 SocialClaw: Best Vista Social Alternative for AI Agents

SocialClaw connects AI agents to social publishing across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and more
SocialClaw connects AI agents to social publishing across X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and more

Overall Rating: 9.4 / 10

$15 against $99. That is SocialClaw's entry price with the REST API, CLI and MCP included, against Vista Social's entry price with the REST API still held back for Enterprise or a paid add-on.

SocialClaw is the strongest Vista Social alternative when code or an AI agent does the publishing. It is a social publishing control plane: one hosted workspace that ChatGPT, Claude, a CLI script or your own product can operate directly, with every result inspectable afterwards.

SocialClaw inverts Vista's shape. Vista is a suite that grew an assistant, with the API at the top of the price list. SocialClaw is an execution layer with a dashboard attached, priced by connected accounts and posts, with the API, CLI and MCP on the bottom rung.

What makes SocialClaw different

  • Native inside ChatGPT and Claude. An official ChatGPT app, a hosted MCP connector at https://getsocialclaw.com/mcp with OAuth, a listing in Anthropic's Claude plugin directory (it needs a Claude login to view) and a Claude Code skill.
  • Upload media once. Hosted upload returns a stable public URL every supported platform can fetch.
  • Validate before apply, inspect after. Schedules are checked before anything goes live; runs, posts and attempts are queryable afterwards.
  • 12 networks. X, LinkedIn (profiles and company pages), Instagram (Business and standalone professional), Threads, Facebook Pages, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest, WordPress, Discord and Telegram.

SocialClaw was also one of the first social media schedulers to ship a CLI, and every way in (dashboard, REST API, CLI, MCP, Claude Code skill, ChatGPT app) is on every plan.

Why SocialClaw wins for agent-run publishing

Can an assistant schedule a post through Vista's MCP? Yes. The harder questions start when the agent runs unattended, outside a chat window.

Problem 1: The API is not on your plan. You want a nightly job or your own SaaS to schedule posts. On Vista, that starts with a call to your Customer Success Manager instead of a key.

SocialClaw fix: The REST API, CLI and MCP server are on every plan, Starter included. The key works the day you sign up.

Problem 2: There is no dry run. With no sandbox, an agent testing a new prompt is testing it on real profiles, with draft status as the safety net.

SocialClaw fix: The validate → apply → inspect loop. The agent runs socialclaw validate -f schedule.json --json first, fixes what comes back, then runs socialclaw apply. Problems surface as validation output, not as posts on a client's feed.

Problem 3: The agent lives in a terminal, not a chat window. Coding agents and CI pipelines want a command they can run and JSON they can parse. Vista documents no CLI, and its ChatGPT setup goes through developer mode.

SocialClaw fix: npm i -g socialclaw, then every step returns JSON with --json. ChatGPT users install the official app instead of building a connector.

No other tool on this list documents that full loop, on every plan, in its official materials.

Native AI agent integrations

In Claude, add the hosted MCP connector at https://getsocialclaw.com/mcp and sign in with OAuth. In ChatGPT, install the official app. Everywhere else:

npx skills add ndesv21/socialclaw # Claude Code skill
npm i -g socialclaw # CLI for scripts, CI jobs and shell-capable agents
npx -y socialclaw mcp # local MCP server for any MCP client

Startup6400$29 / mo$19 / mo
Plus201,000$67 / mo$49 / mo
Pro502,500$99 / mo$80 / mo

API, CLI, MCP and agent access are on every plan, with no per-seat line.

At the same $99 a month, Vista Professional gives you 15 profiles and 2 users before the X add-on, and SocialClaw Pro gives you 50 accounts and 2,500 posts with the API included. Vista's price also buys an inbox and review management, so this is not a like-for-like trade. It is the right trade when publishing is the job.

#2 ContentStudio: Best All-in-One Suite with an Open API

Overall Rating: 7.9 / 10

ContentStudio is the closest thing to Vista Social with the developer door left open. Its official pricing file (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Standard at $19 a month on annual billing ($29 monthly) for 5 accounts and 1 user, Advanced at $49 ($69) for 10 accounts with the inbox and approvals, and Agency Unlimited at $99 ($139) for 25 accounts with unlimited users.

The part a Vista buyer will notice: MCP is "included on every plan, including Standard," next to a public API, a CLI and an agent skill. White label is a $50 a month add-on, and its 12 destinations include Telegram and Google Business Profile.

When ContentStudio makes sense: You want Vista's breadth with an API key on the entry plan and no user ceiling at the agency tier.

When ContentStudio falls short: Its materials do not describe a validation step before publish or run-level delivery inspection, and Reddit, Discord and WordPress are not on its network list.

#3 Agorapulse: Best for Inbox and Reviews

Overall Rating: 7.5 / 10

Agorapulse is the alternative for teams whose day starts in the inbox. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Standard at $79 per user a month on annual billing ($99 monthly), Professional at $119 ($149) and Advanced at $149 ($199), each with 10 social profiles. The trial runs 30 days with no card.

Its MCP connector is free for all users and works with Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot. The limit is stated plainly on its MCP page: "Your agent never publishes a post on the spot. Drafts always land in Agorapulse." Our Agorapulse alternatives guide covers the other direction.

When Agorapulse makes sense: Community management and client reporting are the job.

When Agorapulse falls short: It is priced per user, its agent drafts rather than publishes, X publishing is sold as add-ons priced on request, and the open API covers reporting data on the Custom plan only.

#4 SocialPilot: Best Budget Pick for Agencies

Overall Rating: 7.4 / 10

SocialPilot is the value play for agencies leaving Vista. Its pricing file (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Essentials at $25.50 a month on annual billing ($30 monthly) for 7 accounts and 1 user, Premium at $85 ($100) for 25 accounts and 6 users with white-label reports, and Ultimate at $170 ($200) for 50 accounts and unlimited users.

Its official MCP server is on all paid plans, and SocialPilot says your assistant "can schedule it in SocialPilot directly." API access is Enterprise only. Our SocialPilot alternatives guide goes deeper.

When SocialPilot makes sense: An agency that cares about cost per client and wants an assistant that can actually schedule.

When SocialPilot falls short: A REST API means an Enterprise conversation, Essentials has no inbox or analytics, and its network list stops at ten.

#5 Sendible: Best for Unlimited Users

Overall Rating: 7.1 / 10

Sendible fixes the one Vista limit agencies complain about most: users. Its pricing page headline is "Unlimited users on all plans." Core is $35 a month for 6 profiles, Plus $99 for 18 profiles with approvals, Premium $199 for 42 profiles with branded reports, and Elite $299 for 90 profiles. Yearly billing saves 15%.

Full white label is a paid add-on on Elite and Enterprise, and API usage for software integrators goes through a demo. Our Sendible alternatives guide has the full picture.

When Sendible makes sense: Agencies that bring clients, freelancers and stakeholders into the tool and refuse to pay per head.

When Sendible falls short: We found no official MCP server or ChatGPT connector, and no self-serve API price, so it ranks low for automated workflows.

#6 Buffer: Best Simple Scheduler with a Free API

Overall Rating: 7.0 / 10

Buffer is the cleanest exit from Vista for small teams that mostly need scheduling. The Free plan connects 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Essentials is $5 per channel a month billed yearly ($60 a year) and Team is $10 ($120 a year), adding unlimited team members and approval workflows. API access is on every plan, Free included.

Its MCP is free on every plan too, for Claude, ChatGPT and other tools. Buffer frames it carefully: "Your AI assistant drafts and schedules, and you approve. Everything goes through your Buffer queue." See our Buffer alternatives guide if you outgrow it.

When Buffer makes sense: A few people, a handful of channels and a simple queue, with a free API to experiment on.

When Buffer falls short: No listening, no review management, and per-channel pricing that adds up as channels grow.

#7 Metricool: Best Analytics on a Budget

Overall Rating: 6.8 / 10

Metricool keeps Vista's love of reporting at a fraction of the price. Its pricing page lists a Free plan for 1 brand and 20 posts a month (no LinkedIn or X), Starter from $20 a month on annual billing ($25 monthly) for 5 brands, and Advanced from $53 ($67) for 15 brands with approvals and the API. X is an add-on, as on Vista.

Its official MCP is on every plan, Free included, and Metricool's MCP page shows Claude scheduling and editing posts from chat. Our Metricool alternatives guide goes deeper.

When Metricool makes sense: Reports and competitor tracking drive your week across several brands on a small budget.

When Metricool falls short: Publishing is the sidecar to analytics, the API waits for Advanced, and the inbox is thinner than Vista's.

#8 Publer: Best Value per Account

Overall Rating: 6.7 / 10

Publer's help center (updated September 15, 2026) lists a Free plan with up to 3 social accounts, excluding X. Professional starts at $5 a month and Business at $10, each for 1 account and 1 user, rising as you add accounts and members. Our Publer alternatives guide has the full comparison.

When Publer makes sense: Small teams that want cheap scheduling priced by the account, with X on paid plans.

When Publer falls short: Publer says it "does not offer a public API that is available to everyone." The API and its MCP server are for eligible Business and Enterprise customers.

#9 Planable: Best for Approvals

Overall Rating: 6.5 / 10

Planable prices per workspace with unlimited users, which removes Vista's user ceiling in one move. On yearly billing, Basic is $33 per workspace a month (60 posts, 4 social pages) and Pro is $49 (150 posts, 10 pages, required approvals and the public API). Analytics and the inbox are add-ons, and its MCP connector is on every plan.

When Planable makes sense: Clients, legal and team leads all need to sign off, and you would rather not count logins.

When Planable falls short: Post caps per workspace are real limits, and the inbox and analytics that Vista bundles cost extra here. Full breakdown in our Planable alternatives guide.

#10 Hootsuite: Best for Enterprise Governance

Overall Rating: 6.3 / 10

Hootsuite is the alternative for organizations moving up, not down. Its plans page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Standard at $99 per user a month on annual billing for 10 social accounts, Professional at $199 with unlimited accounts, and Advanced at $399 with approval workflows.

Its MCP servers (Perch, Nest, Lumen and Parliament) connect to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot, and Perch can create scheduled drafts. Its FAQ adds that "organizations maintain control over publishing." Our Hootsuite alternatives guide covers the other direction.

When Hootsuite makes sense: Large teams that need listening depth, governance and SSO, with budget well above Vista's.

When Hootsuite falls short: One Standard seat on annual billing costs $99 a month, the monthly price of Vista Professional with 2 users, and the agent connector is built around human review.

#11 Sprout Social: Best for Enterprise Social Care

Overall Rating: 6.0 / 10

Sprout Social is the strongest pure engagement suite on this list. Its pricing page (reviewed November 3, 2026) lists Essentials at $79 per seat a month on annual billing ($99 monthly) for 5 profiles, Professional at $299 with unlimited profiles, and Advanced at $399, the tier that includes "The Sprout API and Helpdesk integrations."

Sprout's API documentation adds the decisive line: "Only posts created in draft status are supported at this time." Its ChatGPT connection is pitched for questions about your data, not for posting. Our Sprout Social alternatives guide has the details.

When Sprout Social makes sense: Social is a support channel, and you need routing, sentiment and team productivity reports.

When Sprout Social falls short: Per-seat pricing at enterprise levels, and an API that stops at drafts.

#12 Later: Best for Visual Planning

Overall Rating: 5.8 / 10

Later prices by "social set," one profile per supported network. Starter is $18.75 a month billed yearly for 1 set and 1 user, Growth $37.50 for 2 sets and 2 users, and Scale $82.50 for 6 sets and 4 users, with a 14-day trial. See our Later alternatives guide.

When Later makes sense: Instagram and TikTok visual planning for creators and brand teams.

When Later falls short: X is not on its network list, and no public API or MCP is named on its pricing page.

The SocialClaw publishing workflow: connect, upload media, validate, schedule and publish.

SocialClaw Workflow in 60 Seconds

This is the whole validate → apply → inspect loop from a terminal. An agent in ChatGPT or Claude runs the same steps through the app or the MCP connector.

npm i -g socialclaw
socialclaw login --api-key <key>
socialclaw accounts connect --provider linkedin --open
socialclaw accounts connect --provider reddit --open
socialclaw accounts list --json
socialclaw assets upload --file ./launch.png --json # stable public URL

socialclaw apply -f schedule.json --json
socialclaw status --run-id <id> --json # what happened, per post
socialclaw posts get --post-id <id> --json

Every step returns JSON an agent can read. That is the difference between a tool an agent can chat with and a tool an agent can run.

Migrating from Vista Social to SocialClaw

  1. Start the trial. Sign in and size the plan by connected accounts, not by headcount.
  2. Reconnect accounts. Run socialclaw accounts connect --provider <p> --open per network, then socialclaw accounts list --json.
  3. Point your agent at SocialClaw. Install the ChatGPT app, or add https://getsocialclaw.com/mcp as a connector in Claude, in place of the Vista MCP link.
  4. Move the next week of posts. Upload media, validate, apply, and check the run with socialclaw status.
  5. Decide about the inbox. If DMs, comments and reviews run through Vista's inbox, keep an engagement tool for that job.

FAQs

What is the best Vista Social alternative?

SocialClaw, if code or an AI agent owns your publishing: REST API, CLI, MCP and an official ChatGPT app on every plan from $15 a month. For a like-for-like suite, ContentStudio; for inbox and reviews, Agorapulse.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Vista Social?

Yes, several. Vista starts at $99 a month. SocialClaw starts at $15, ContentStudio at $19 on annual billing, SocialPilot at $25.50 on annual billing, and Buffer, Publer and Metricool all have free plans.

Does Vista Social have an API?

Only on Enterprise or with the API add-on. Vista's help center describes API 2.0 with 76 endpoints and 60 requests a minute; the add-on price is not on its pricing page, and there is no sandbox.

Can Vista Social's MCP server publish posts?

Yes. Its "Create or update a post" tool drafts, schedules or edits posts, on every plan. That puts Vista ahead of Agorapulse, whose MCP only drafts.

How much does Vista Social charge for X?

$29 a month. X publishing, boosting, automations and analytics are an add-on on every Vista plan.

How many users does Vista Social include?

2 on Professional, 3 on Advanced and 4 on Scale. Enterprise starts at 8 or more. Sendible, Planable and SocialPilot Ultimate include unlimited users, and SocialClaw does not price by seat.

Does SocialClaw replace Vista Social completely?

No. SocialClaw replaces Vista's publishing and adds a REST API, a CLI and a validate step on every plan. It does not replace the inbox, reviews, DM automations or listening, so teams that depend on those keep an engagement tool beside it.

Final Verdict

Pick by the job you are hiring it for:

  • The same kind of suite with an open API → ContentStudio
  • Inbox, comments and reviews are the job → Agorapulse
  • An agency on a tight budget → SocialPilot, or Sendible if unlimited users matter most
  • Simple, cheap scheduling or reports first → Buffer, Publer or Metricool
  • Every post needs sign-off → Planable
  • Enterprise governance or social care → Hootsuite or Sprout Social
  • Code or an AI agent owns publishing → SocialClaw

Vista Social remains a strong all-in-one suite with an MCP server most competitors would envy. It is not a publishing execution layer for code.

SocialClaw is. A REST API, a CLI and an MCP server on every plan, an official ChatGPT app, and the validate → apply → inspect loop wrapped around all of them are not features bolted onto a suite. They are the product.
